At the mo, I *think* we have 3 viable/not ridiculous options.

1/ Push this place as hard as possible, with the creation of an HWB team, and attract companies to our work as and when possible. Benchtec becomes the new holy word.

EP-UK dies, and OC3D goes an sits in the corner.


2/ Stick at EP-UK as OC3D have offered to rehost it. We would have increased publicity, access to more people to join the bench team as they step up and learn, and a supply of hardware to review/bench.

That would mean this place stays as Baz/Pete/Paul originally intended it- a highly focussed showcase site.

3/ Dualist and Soddem have a site coming together "based on extreme cooling" though with a benching slant to it.

EP-UK dies, OC3D sits in the corner, this place stays for showcasing.

I *think* thats it.

AFAIK the following options are out:

*splitting up
*staying firmly rammed up OC3Ds butthole

If possible i would like to re-host the ep site and domain so that it has nothing to do with its current hosts so we dont have this all happen again.

If thats not possible i think we should push this site as much as possible if everyone else agrees and Baz is happy for that?

i would add that if this site went ahead

all of the staff from ep would remain mods here
just as before

any new hwbot team we create he would be a strong uk team

I think its time for change and to think what Phil has done to us all its time to push this new site, i for one would like everyone from the EP-UK site to be involved in this push as we can start afresh and stuff OC3D and Phil

i was a lil mad about how this all came about earlier

and would find it hard to take part in ep unless it returned to british ownership

Baz am i right in assuming this will stil be here if we all decide to go back to the now EPUK team.

I have to admit - the very fact that you would bench for this team is attractive - although you could now bench for EPUK too.

I know some peeps feel aggrieved (rightly so) with what has happened to us and how it was dealt with.

Having said that - my head is still spinning, but spoke to Blindfitter today (lives local and we bounce bench ideas off each other) and we are commited to keeping as many of us under one roof as possible.

By the way - good job on putting this up as quickly as you did - if we all make this our new home, is there anything you would need help with keeping it running (from a perspective of contibutions/donations)?

mav i will bench with this team but would find it hard to leave the team i bench for now

this site was already being setup before all this happened but was only going to be used to push for hardware support for a few uk benchers

the idea of the team has only now become a possibility with the loss of ep

I say keep this site and push for it to have all UK bencher's under one roof. What happened with EPUK was a P*** take and when Paul "sacha" called to tell me i was gutted as well as wanting to kick some head in. I have spoken to K404 many times and i am sure you will all agree UK bencher's to have any chance must stick together. If people start going here and there it will leave a few which will struggle.

I myself have my own forum and it doesn't have extreme or dedicated bencher's like UPUK had but it has regulars that stick together and that's what this it is about. I will bench for what ever team Baz and Paul decided because i have some jucey kit on way and a animal cascade waiting to eat some hardware. Oh and they are me mates :biggrin:

I think it's fair to say that I like this place already - baz to hav u back in the UK bench scene and being on the same team as you should be regarded (as is by me) reason enough for us all to come here.

Plus UK bench team should be UK owned.

As long as the honeyed potions of OC3D dont have an effect, I think benching here stands a chance.

if we can get Dizzy, Dualist, Soddem, Bilko convinced, I can get Stocky, Arctic Ice and Highlander to jump over with minimal hassle as well, then we should be WELL on our way

Guys we have another option for a push site.

I'm working with Digital Report on a new section called DR-X (Digital Report Extreme) to try and get more UK benchers involved in actually benching their hardware. I'm still talking to Rich who owns the site about moving their current team over to Bench Tec but Rich has already moved his scores over here.

It would give us an already going website, and a new site for all bench logs and stuff.

Just another option, I'm not gonna repost my scores as EPUK again I don't think tbh. I like the new name and setup.

Would I become a mod again if we stay here?
