Well I’m still on old school 939 :D. I need a new RAM to go with my DFI Expert and I had in mind 2GB model. After having a quick look around the best place to get DDR appears to be MemoryC.
1st off all I’m not too keen to spend enormous amount of money on DDR so my optimal budged would be around £100.
Have a look at this list (http://www.memoryc.com/computermemory/ddrram.html?Capacity=2Gb) and tell me what do you think and which one I should go for.

Well keeping benching in mind maybe its worth to buy very generic RAM for everyday use and try to get some old school BH-5 (might be mission impossible, though) for benching, what you think?

Your input will be greatly appreciated!

I had some G.Skill HZ DDR500 and it was great - holds it value very well though, but I've seen some go very cheap in the States. Maybe you could get some shipped over if it's worth it?

I had a bad experience with the Geil, as in, it wasnt overclocking worth a damn. I would say either the A Data stuff or the Team stuff. only Team cos i have had good clocking experience with their ram, but neveer used that specific kit.

My 2p anyway.

I'd go with the The G.Skill ZX Series as they have the lowest stock latencies for around that price. That makes sense to me :)

I hate to say Gskill, but they seem to be the best for the money... Personally I wouldnt use them & would probably go for the OCZ EL's or the Mushkin

OK, I’ve narrowed down my choice… I’ll pass on G.Skill, also OCZ EL is out of stock and I couldn’t find it elsewhere so I’m looking to bay either Team Elite or Mushkin HP3200 but again it’s hard to choose … Elite makes more sense as it cost £71 but then Mushkin has better timings but cost £26 more…

Choices, choices... *sigh*

I’m, kind of, considering buying Mushkin memory however before I do so I just want to confirm something…

I remember someone saying, back in a day, that DFI boards are a bit finicky when it comes to memory so I just was wondering if anyone from old school benchers can confirm that Mushkin memory works OK in DFI board.

Cheers

I didn't use any but it was one of the brands I remember the DFI rep recommended to me - along with G.Skill and OCZ - so you should be safe ;)

Thanks for your input guys as it’s much appreciated.

I went for Mushkin memory but not fro HP3200 as i was telling before... After reading several reviews I splashed out and went fro XP4000 Redline :D. Well, probably it wasn't best value memory out there but I’m pretty sure it will be decent enough to make the last stand on my 939 socket :).

What happened to the £100 budget?! :p

I do remember when those sticks were first released as they had raving reviews :)
