One of the best air coolers is the Thermaltake Ultra 120 Extreme.
Massive and works great.

I have a lapped Q6600 G0 and thermalright ultra 120 in my Armour Jr and is 8 hours prime95 stable @ 3.745ghz... excellent cooler if your willing to do a little work with it... i.e. lap the base :)

well im making pc for a a girl so i dont know if she overclock like mad , and you have to add a fan to thermalright ultra 120 so maybe something simpler ? i was thinking scythe ? are they any good (im not good at air coolers had 9700 zalman running water now)

hmmm perhaps something like a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro, should see 3.4/3.5 on a Q6600.. only concern is if the board has some monster heatpipes may not fit...
Otherwise perhaps one of the zalaman flowery things?

I have the Scythe Ninja( my second one ), its excellent, and the finish on both of them is/was fantastic. The Freezer 7 is ok, but the base isnt as well finished, and its maybe a little small for the Quad. I would say the Scythe would be fine. And if it's not overclocked, and the case has good air flow, you may even be able to cool it passively. Maybe. please don't quote me on that, as i'd hate to look daft.

if it's not being overclocked then A Zalman cooler is good at keeping it cool and runs quiet. Plus its alot lower profile than the Thermaltake.

The Scythe Ninja is a good one to go for as it's a good all rounder from reviews and just general concensus :)
