I know im askin a lot of this poor chip but all in the name of science eh? thanks fella's

What is the maximum bus clock you can get the CPU to run at?

3.7 is a nice increase, however much of your hard work is going to waste by your poor windows config.I can see avg running, networking,a desktop, and much more besides. Some proper benching etiquette and tweaking is in order to make your punishment of that chip worthwhile.Still good to see you having a go though, keep pushing mate.

Nice work there, but as Thicky says you'll get more out on a tweaked O/S with less unecessary apps running ;)

As the guys said - apply a nice clean install, diable unecesary services and apply some tweakage and it'll really fly.

Look at the SuperPi thread by K404 - you can see that tweaked runs at 3.6ghz are in fact a lot quicker than my bloated 'everyday' system running the same test.

Having said that - your have managed to achieve a fantastic overclock there, great job! :)

Applying the tips and tweaks will really make you smile.

Is there any chance of a guide / thread to give us an idea of how to do a good clean settup of XP for benching? I have a spare HDD, and would like to have a benching HDD to swap out my day to day gaming hdd.

yeah tbh guys was plannin on a reinstall and startin again, been usin this rig 24/7 since i built it, just for conveniance but should really use one of my other rigs for everythin else and save this for benching...
