hi all new to the forum an very nice looking it is:)
im in the process of my project at the mo the log can be seen on bit tech and overclockerz but ive just had a set back.
this morning when i turned the pc on i got a fail sensor "sensor vFA" the phase im using is a mach2,ive removed tha phase an gone back to the stock hsf an cpu speed just to get the thing to work.
any ideas guys???
im new to phase an would really apreciate any help you guys can give

Is it a standard MachII or an ST/GT/Mod?
Are you saying that the LCD displays 'Fail Sensor'?

bought it as a gt an yes the display says sensor faliure.
if im quick enough to power it up it says too slow just before sensor faliure, don't know if that helps

Sensor failure is usually the sensor in the head, which is a royal pain to put right.Could also be the controller, unlikely, but easily tested by substituting a known good one.Too slow is usually a symptom of a leak,if the unit takes a long time to pull down to boot.Try running the unit standalone,by connecting a jumpered psu to the molex and then bridging the power cable. Then describe exactly what happens from the beginning.

tried running standalon as you said an it shows the error straight away:(
looks like me mobos dead as well now after turning of it failed to reboot, this is the 2nd striker extreme ive had die on me in about 3 months:@
been looking online alot an it seems the striker extreme is a nighmare mobo so ive been looking at the lanparty UT P35-T2R,anyone know what there like?
i really like the look of the nb an sb cooling so id be keeping them cooled that way instead of water, that leaves me with 2 triple rads for just one gpu that is way overkill,so i was thinking after seeing sacha's water cooled phase would it be possible to use the 2nd rad to water cool my phase?if its possible what else would i need an how much would it cost parts an labour inc regas an tune, and who would be able to do it.4Qman??? ;)
obviously if i went with this idea the case would need re-painting a nice green an id need to sort out a 2nd pump an stuff for the 2nd loop.
but that all depends on the mobo an if its possible.

Water cooling your mach is definately possible, but may turn into a bigger project than you might imagine, particularly to maintain an all in one unit.I can foresee a totally custom case, etc. There are a few members here capable of doing the work, including myself,Sacha35,4Qman,soddemfx,Bazx,maybe others, but i have no idea if any want to undertake such work,i might under certain conditions.
You need to consider how to fix your mach too, which i'm certain is the probe. You can just ditch the controller/probe and run it manually via an on/off switch. You could replace the head and probe with a custom evap and suitable probe and retain the controller. You could just use the compressor to build a totally custom unit with/without an aftermarket controller, like a g-froster or an unseen, etc.
As for the mobo,i wouldn't choose that one, having had bad dfi/intel experiences in the past.I do know it's performance is very good IF you are prepared to play with the multitude of options and test each and every combination of bios options and manage to find a sweet spot. What made you interested in this particular board ?

heres some pics of my case as it stands at the mo,or at least stood till it packed up...lol
ive already contacted 4Qman an hes gonna speak to sacha bout the water cooling of the phase, just wanna say thanks to 4Qman caus hes taken time to help me out with advice on this project so thanks man i owe ya a drink at least.
found on another forum that the problem i have seems quite a common one alot of people have just turned there unit off over night an its worked again the following day but mine doesnt, but it does seem to be the sensor/probe but as ive built mine onto my case i cant just post it off to get repaired.
thaks for the feed back on the board as well dude,to be honest it was the looks that atracted me too it an seeing the stock coolers on the nb an sb made me think bout water cooling the phase caus id have the 2nd rad doing nothing.
as i said in my first post im new to phase but wanna learn so thanks for the replies guys.
ps.ive never been able to connect the phase to the usb header for some reason so im thinking maybe a faulty controler?

Great case dude, stunning indeed.I dont like to see a mach head bent over to the extent you have it in the 2nd pic, that is asking for a suction line fracture and leak.If the hole in the upper case is large enough for the evap to pass through, then the unit can be removed, fixed to some mdf and shipped. Some machs were sold with mixed up usb leads and needed you to identify the correct usb pin orientation on the motherboard and controller and then ensure the lead was connecting the relevant pins to each other correctly. This information was posted on the now defunct EP-UK forum, probably by one of the members here now.If you really need it,i have the means to find out, after a little research.

thanks for the comments dude.i would rather drive an deliver the whole case myself than try and remove the unit alot of hastle i know but it'd make me happier to know if anything happened in transit it would be my fault.
im not too bothered about the usb ive used it so far without it so im not missing it.
any ideas of cost of using the compressor to get a custom unit built?i'd ideally like some kind of display mainly because ive already cut out for one on the case.

You could just replace the evap and probe and retain the mach controller (assuming it's ok) and display. That means the cost of a probe, whatever evap and suction you choose and labour,i'd prefer to discuss actual prices via P.M..Most aftermarket controllers have a display output too.You can even just use one of those cheap probe and displays available from most modding places, some are pretty accurate to -50c.With a little imagination you could use one of those with what you already have, ditch the controller and be back up running for very little cost at all.

It's definately an elegant design, and i love the colour, though i'm not sure why :p
Looks like you did a great job on the wiring too. thanks for the pics.

Wow one hell of a case that is dude!!! Who and where did you get it or did you make it all?
Thicky is a mach god, not much he don't know about them.
Personly id look at it being fixed but a new unit using some of the parts is way more worthy
