The poster is saying that DDR3 benifits from sub zero cooling.

I thought this was tried with GDDR3 with no benifit?

I guess I could get some ram waterblocks and try it with the waterchiller at -2c. Might be easier than getting something fabricated to strap a phase unit to the ram.

Damn, I am actually contemplating doing this now. :help:

if i could get the stock heatspreaders off wasy id have a bash at pahse'd ram but they are glued on mine i think

I remmber there being a thread on XS a while ago abck in the ole DDR days, where some one made a RAM pot. :)

i have actually got a piece of alu thats big enough to quickley make a ram pot out of, tha will sit on top of my reapers heatpipes. might make it a little more stable at 1280 +

I just see it as a lot of effort/ cost for little gain. But perhaps this will be what the top benchers will be doing to get that little extra out of their hardware? I know that I won't be doing that :p
