ok, as the tosspots at XS dont want to help me, i will try a nicer crowd.
all im am after is tips to get the best performance out of my ram.
the mem shows the TIMMINGS i used on the aqm3 run, the correct speed is in the cpu-z.

this is what i had on XS.

that should shut you non belevers up before it starts.
ALL 4 cores

now. im looking for some advice on ram settings to stabilise my ram somemore before I go wasting $150 worth of dice trying to find out.
My ram is REAPER 9200.
i can run at 1260 ish on 5-4-4-10-T2-14-35-5-8-5-7.8u-5-3-2 on 2.3v.
it dont like much more ovltage, and concidering this is my 4th set, i dont really wanna give it any more.
now i would like to know which of the subtimings i should alter to improve my Pi time, then any other benchmark.
this is my best aqm3 so far, non Vmoded GTX's SLI air cooled.

is the voltage reading in cpu-z correct ??
you can pull down tRFC and tRAS but I think thats about it?
What about your 1T options?

voltage is correct, it droops a lot, im hoping to sort that on thursday wit a nice B2 pencil as none of these ones i have do enough to make it work.
if i set TRFC any lower, i score worse in benches, and it gets more unstable and tras, well im no0t sure if this ram is quite good enough to push 8 yet, else i will try running 5-4-3-8
and T1 is crap on this one, best ram speed is abot 1050 on the same timmings.

just took the top spot on hwbot for DUAL 8800 GTX with this.

tRFC is normally very good for pi performance can shave 0.5s off my pi time by tweaking it, what kind of XP are you running? Is it a full version or is it a stripped install?
Those RAMs should take more voltage new D9GMH modules seem, especially those on the reapers, to hate tight timings but will go hell for leather speed wise with a few volts!
They will degrade with high voltage but cooling helps, SoddemFX, Dualist and myself pushed a set upto 680MHz+ Dual channel 5-5-5-15 with about 2.65V I think.
For the volts your at they are doing very well :D

ive allready RMA'd 4 sets just for using 2.4v, dont wanna do a 5th any time soon, enen though i have actually got one dead stick of 4 sat by my feet.
my XP isnt really striped, but its the fastest ive ever behcned with. just the basic install, but with a 5 mins tweek before i start benching sorts it out.

You don't want to give 2.4V+ on a EVGA 680i board, their notorious for killing RAM because of it.

I agree with jokester ref the voltage on 680i boards
Can you get anymore FSB on the quad?
Great scores by the way :)
Any special mods the the board ot get the QX9650 to run?

why's that, do they over-volt or just spike voltage?
Maybe new mobo might get you some more - I've only heard evil words about those 680i's?

Bad regulation on the board I'm afraid :(
Stocky totally OT but did you ever get a quote for a Tek 9 Rev 3 pot?

It's a shame they don't just do a super-board for us overclockers without any crappy components or BIOS' as I'm always put off upgrading!
Reference the pot I haven't heard back - I'm just putting out feelers really as I'm in the process of plotting for the near future :waiting:

well clock for clock this board beats most others except for spi 32m.

maybe that's so clock for clock; but if you aren't getting the memory to the top end then the scores will (obviously) start falling behind other mobo's which allow higher stable VDimm and thus higher memory speeds.

For reference this is was my entry into the low clock challenge for the 680i platform. You should be able to run your ram real tight on this platform.

io dont think my ram will go that tight that high, but i can try. i did try last week, but it was still heading for 15mins at 4.4ghz
