OK I'm about to buy 8800GT and was looking at prices and I found XpertVision 8800GT for £143.35 which looks a very reasonable price. As far as I can see the card comes with vanilla clocks of 600MHz/1800MHz but it doesn’t bother me and I can overclock it myself and looks like it has 2 year warranty. I was looking on XpertVision website and look like they have the office in Germany so I reckon it probably shouldn't be too bad in a case it comes to RMA.

Anyway, as I never really heard of them, I just was wondering if anyone ever had anything from this brand and if so what was your experience?

Cheers,
Andy

They have been around for ages and I guess are as good (or bad) as any other company around - all 8800GT cards are nvdia reference design so they are all basically the same card - more expensive ones may have different coolers or software/games is all.

Drop a linky to the store though as its a great price.

Cheers

I found it here: http://microdirect.co.uk/(26275)XpertVision-GeForce-8800-GT-512MB-DDR3-PCIE.aspx

It was in stock this morning but went to place my order 10min ago and it’s sold out :(.

Snooze you lose.

Just on refernce for this type of thing - Thr original question really revolves around the supplier rather than the OEM of the card.

The question should of been - are microdirect a good compnay to deal with? The answer is yes, very respectable and those cards are prices as the 8800GT was supposed to be.

I think somehwere there is a list of web dealers that we all use and could recommend - so if you see a deal from one of the companies we have posted up there - go for it!!

That was a very good pirce, but you can pick it up for £154.38 inc VAT at: http://specialtech.co.uk/spshop/customer/product.php?productid=5023

Most other places seem to be out of stock, so I assume it has been a good seller!

Edit: Free postage too it would seem bringing them to around the same price :)

I’ve tried to buy it... After I registered and entered my details it gave me only one postage option on the checkout:
Interlink NI, Eire & UK Offshore (£11.99)

W T F? What's happened to free delivery? I'm definitely not paying that money for delivery.

Tried phoning them 4 times in last 30min but it goes to Voice Mail every time so 1st expression not too good.

That's not very good. I just checked and they're charging me £3.15 1st class recorded which isn't at all bad, but I guess you don't get that option :(

Interlink might class you as Highlands and therefore the free delivery offer may not be open to you?

Well I am in Highlands :D.

Anyway... In the beginning I was quite skeptic about XperVision but then suddenly I realized that I’m quite obsessed about this particular card and didn’t want any other brand anymore.

Hunt was on… Spent last 2 days scattering all over the web to find the best deal but luck wasn’t in my favor as it was sold out pretty much every. On my way I found this review (http://www.vr-zone.com/articles/XpertVision_8800GT_Sonic_w_Thermalright_HR-03GT/5468.html) and that’s was it and from then on I needed Sonic and nothing else :D. Again endless hours were spent browsing to find it but I had not much to choose from… Pretty much all the time I would end up in Specialtech as they had it in stock but delivery was overkill so I was holding back to order. They had 2 cards in stock for last 24h or so. Went to check Specialtech again just recently and realized that they lowered price for it (funny enough it’s now cheaper than vanilla card) and 1 card was left in stock so I bought it and it worked out £10 cheaper than if I would have bought it earlier so I was pretty chuffed. Now I’m praying that I was in time and there were no other purchases before me and I will get it :waiting:.

On other hand there is a seller on eBay selling them and looks like they have a few in stock (well... 23 to be precise ) and it works out something like £170 all in after tax.

Also there is a review for Palit's 8800GT Sonic:

Well I have no idea how vanilla card performs but as you seen yourself 8800GT Sonic is damn fast .

I think I’ll might save up a few pennies and get another one later on for SLI action .
