Volt Modded 8800GTS 320/640

Hi guys,

Took the plunge tonight (with a little encouragement/advice from Dave!) to Vmod my GPU :unsure:

Found a guide HERE (http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=4641) that suits both the 320 and 640Mb cards.

The good news is that it still works :D

Just doing some testing now, will report back later.

I have the 320Mb poverty spec card... which is proving to be very good :-)

My max 3mark05 setings before mods were 720/1090/1750 shaders.

With vmods complete, so far im upto 760/1100/1785 with more to come..

Quick question,

What else can i use to OC the card besides rivatuner ? Im about to run out of adjustment on the core freq, it only goes upto 770 ?

I believe in the power user settings of Rivatuner that you can actually increase the clocking parameters so that you can go higher - I don't know how to do it - I just know it's there (maybe overclocking Nvidia or OC Global section?) :)

Yup :) Power user-> Overclocking-> Global. MaxClockLimit can be changed. Try a few values. E.G. maybe "100" will open things right up, but you'll lose fine-tuning. A small mouse movement will add lots to the core etc

The mod proved to be quite useful, pushing my max core up from 730ish to 760, shaders upto 1850 and memory upto 1110mhz.

Quite pleased on the whole with my first vmod :cool:
