Something ain't right there with 10-12 idle temps make sure your using something like CoreTemp to check your temps.

yeah unless you pc is in your garden and you checked the temps at night 10-12c is most deffently wrong. 32-34 sounds normal for a room with ambiant of around 24

if you idle at 30c and your rads are in 7c air then i would say you have a bad mount. Remount and check again :)

It might be a nice idea to have temp probe in your liquid, then you'll get a good picture of where your temps should be.

Max out your GTL ref clocks
disable transaction booster for max CPUZ (relax level 3)
Disable static read/write control
disable everything in the advanced CPU menu
enable loadline callibration
FSBTV no more than 1.78
chipset no more than 1.78. (1.65 ish should do)
PLL no more than 1.8
disable spread spectrums

Still not sure what is going on, remounted the CPU again and again, but still same temps, it doesn't make sence at all :help::help::ohmy::ohmy:

Maximus Extreme reads the CPU temp direct from the diodes on the Core2 CPU, so depending on the chip the minimum it'll read is about 25-30C (Tjunction -75C + any offset the BIOS introduces I think).

enable loadline callibration

I was under the impression for higher overclocks it was best to turn this off? as i thought it leads to instability due to voltage fluctuations? Im not saying your wrong, id be glad to know the right answer!

It's the opposite. I think it was Raja that said to turn it off in a review he did a few months back (Maximus Formula IIRC). It was an early bios he used though and I have noticed newer bios doing different things. I have tried this on a few boards/bios' chips and complety disagree. I tried it at my DiCE meet to prove a point and bang, my high overclock failed with it disabled. The board suffered from bad Voltage Drop and Droop with it disabled.

Brilliant, a deffinative answer. thanks weescott :D

Tye are you saying the chipset is hot or the cpu? if your overclocking loads the CPU will get very hot.
Send me the images on msn ill get them up here mate :)

The BIOS giude info is for 24/7 systems rather than benching @ 1.8V. Different applications, different contexts.
